What are the most effective in-the-ear headsets for cycling in the city?

Think if you will, a pleasant trip in the shops on the hot summer’s day. This is not a stress packed, hunger-enthused expedition to your local supermarket followed by the bitter discovery how the bastards have set their costs up AGAIN…I said that this was a nice trip. You head out into the nice and cozy, dazzling summer time afternoon hunting for milk, some eggs and maybe just a little treat for yourself. You slide your iPod from your compartment and…and…Wait a minute, the cables all twisted up.

Hold on.

Gimme a second.

By time you have untangled the wires, you’re out of a pleasant mood for a walk, you’ve abandoned that spur-of-the-instant journey to that playing field you were toying with and also you do not need to listen to any music at all. In fact, it is too damned hot for just about any of that. You don’t want a nice, healthy tossed patch salad or Spanish omelette for dinner, you will just swing by the local grease trap on your way home. Furthermore, there are bills to pay and housework to complete and advice to find together with your partner. Maybe you even cancel the journey to the shops altogether. The milk is not that lumpy after all and you may make a wonderfully pragmatic Spanish omelette from flour, water and spaghetti hoops, right?

Avoiding this sort of thing occouring to you, it’s advisable to test guided reflection, therapy, or self help books that can prevent little things like a knotted headset cable sending you spiralling right into a profound, murky melancholy. But, if you can’t be bothered with all that New Age hocus pocus, then why get yourself a pair of Bluetooth in-ear headsets?

Bluetooth in ear headphones don’t require a cable, all you need to do is slide the tiny beauties from the pocket, pop them into your ears and take advantage of the ride.

Imagine our little sun-dappled scenario again, this time not including the cable catastrophe.

Your stroll is satisfying and comfy, the warm sun gently caresses your face and there doesn’t look to be a cloud in the sky. A gorgeous associate of the woman folk smiles at you (no doubt drawn to the superb variety of headphones) and everything looks right within the world. Perhaps a tossed garden salad becomes dinner and dancing? Perhaps a quick flutter on the lottery becomes a mansion and a pool house. Who knows?

I’ll generously confess that not any of the scenarios above are actually mainly likely, but, I will also say that having a set of Bluetooth in-ear headsets, at the least the cables won’t get jumbled within your pouch and annoy you on a day by day basis. That has to be worth something, right?
